Unfortunately, the Twin Cities Marathon faced an unexpected cancellation in the year 2023 due to unprecedented heat conditions in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Organizers made the difficult decision to prioritize the safety and well-being of participants and spectators alike.

As temperatures soared, exceeding safe thresholds, the risk of heat-related illnesses posed too great a concern to proceed with the event as planned. Consequently, the anticipated gathering of 300,000 spectators, set to witness the marathon’s excitement and spirit, was regrettably called off.
